Looking to the future, in these extremely turbulent times, our rising generation of resident 18 year olds, who are on the verge of being stake holders in our nation are an untapped resource for boosting our communal safety & security organizations such as SES, CFA, St John's ambulance etc. Their registration with Centre Link, & their required enrolment in their choice of such organizations, (from Govt, approve list) could possibly include in practice, an intensive full time one month's familiarization/induction course in their chosen organization in January, followed by part-time rostered involvement in supervised team activities throughout the rest of the year. Their hourly involvement recorded in their official log books, would entitle them to be paid the same current rate as military reservists, and at the end of that first year of experience, to be be titled "SES Reservist" etc. if proven to be proficient. As a Federal Government initiative, this would be a Government budget item, and regarded as an investment in the boosting of our communal resilience for times of local & national emergencies.

Skills acquisition in supervised team situations would benefit both individuals & our wide spread community, as it would increase the availability of experienced 'first responders' in emergencies. Oversight by Fed. Govt appointed co-ordinators at regional, state and national levels would ensure continuing monitoring of such a valuable policy in its operation.

As our essential twin goals for all Australian residents are communal Safety & Security, let's develop policies which promote these goals, because in so doing, we will be beginning to gain unity as a nation irrespective of our individual gender, ethnicity & beliefs.

We urgently need to build inclusive policies to achieve national unity. Australian 18 year olds want a voice in our national multicultural future & planned non-military national service could give them valuable opportunities & experience, and increase our communal resilience in emergencies, as well, bys integrating them, irrespective of gender or ethnicity, into existing organizational teams focusing on community safety & security such as SES, CFA, St John's ambulance etc.

Non-Military Service in Australia for resident 18 year olds, could integrate this untapped cohort in supervised teams of existing Safety & Security organizations, and result in their skills acquisition & in boosted numbers of first responders in national emergencies. Their hourly Fed. Govt. payments recorded in their official logbooks would be paid at current military reservists rates.
